An old, much-expanded Cape-Cod style house sits high on a hill across the lane from where we summer in Wellfleet. The lawn that slopes gently down from that house opens to these out-buildings at the edge of the lane. No one lives in them and they're used only for storage, and every afternoon they become dramatically bathed in a range of shadows cast by their own walls and roofs and by the huge trees that shade them. I couldn't resist capturing them on canvas at that time of day.
